I uploaded the base map and the engine wont start. When uploading the base code to the ECU, does one have to turn the immobilizer off before the car can be started since the keys aren't registered to the ecu provided by the vendor?

If your immobilizer isn't sync'd it needs to be disabled in order to start the vehicle.
