Suggestions for 2019 Honda 2.0t 6MT

Post by toliver1 »

Hello - completely new to tuning here and own a 2019 Honda Accord Sport 2.0t 6MT (recently purchases pre-owned with just 3000 miles). I am also looking at the KTuner 1.2 just to increase driving enjoyment a little bit (no racing). Are there any additional modifications that are required for either Stage 1 or Stage 2? Also, how do the dual tunes work with the manual transmission since there is no sport button. The ECO button would put it back to factory tune and, without ECON, it would be at Stage 1/2 (which you had picked)?

Any other suggestions for a beginner would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks very much!

No modifications required to run those tunes. They were created on a factory vehicle and then tested with different modifications afterwards for compatibility.

Correct, ECO changes the boost level.

Just want to confirm ECO does put it back to stock boost levels? I didn't see the option in the ktuner menu to turn it on? Do we see the option? I just flashed a stage 1 dual target so eco should be factory boost but I'm seeing more boost when eco mode is engaged almost the same as stage 1, so just wanted to confirm ECO does work for 18accord2.0 mt?

With a tune open you can see what the targets are via a tuning table, so you can check for a clear difference between the two boost target tables.

When tuned other limitations are removed, so what you're actually seeing is the fact that you never reached the factory boost targets on the factory tune. Now you do.

Got it thank you! I will start logging using the tuning table to get a better idea. Can you give me an idea on what boost targets would like at factory tune, stage 1 tune and stage 2? On factory tune I was seeing 15, now stage 1 I'm seeing 18 and stage 2 is 22? Is that correct for the expected targets?

That sounds about right, but will vary based on your environmental factors.

Thanks again for the information and support appreciate it!
One more question

The tunes you have loaded up, do they require the quick adjustments to also be enabled to some level, or that is our own personal preference? Do you have any suggestions on what we should put there?

Also the advanced VSA strategy, what is the difference between that and the regular VSA button? The options in the menu for the strategy type, can you explain it how it would work?

Thank you,

Quick adjustments are up to you.

See the help topic for advanced VSA, where that is explained.
