Best way to check if KTuner is unlocked?

I'm looking to get a used v2 tuner from someone who sold their car. They've given me some pictures indicating its unlocked, but was hoping for a way to check when I go pick it up.

Is there a quick way I can check that the KTuner v2 is truly unlocked on the go? As far as I can tell, the only way is to bring a laptop with the software/drivers installed to quickly plug into when I receive the device.
