Strong smell of fuel

I have experiencing the strong smell of fuel inside the car when accelerating from a dead stop over the last few months. Air or heat needs to be on for me to notice it. I didn't think much of it until the other day when I went full throttle and it sputtered a few times which now has me very concerned. Ktuner V2 has been on the car since 2020 with no issues until now. I have updated the firmware and re-flashed (Stage 1 and Dual Tune) but it has not improved. No warning lights but it has had a U129E code that I have never been able to get rid of. Only mods are Takeda Momentum intake and Remark Exhaust. Fuel pump recall has been done. Any ideas what could be causing this?

U129E is a communication error that wouldn't affect fueling. I have no suggestions for causes. If the tune was running fine since 2020 with the correct options it's safe to say it's not the tuning.
