Ecu connectivity
Are you able to connect to this ecu via laptop outside of the vehicle? I no longer have the vehicle but have the ecu and I want to try to “unlock it” so I can sell it. Does it even need unlocked? Any necessary steps? Thanks in advance.

Yes it needs to be unlocked, or you can sell the whole ECU with the unit in it. Sorry what do you mean by with the unit in it? And how would I go about unlocking it? I have access to the harness so I can probably get the ecu to boot. EDIT I found how to unlock, says I need to choose return to factory from the tuning menu.

You can sell the ECU with the unit in it because it's locked to that ECU. Or you can power the ECU, return to factory, and then unlock.
