DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
Adding a push button would be one way to do it.
Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
So after getting my started checked (ok) re sanded my grounds. Wired a push button with a soldered in signal wire and ran 12v straight to battery car turned over then died. Hooked up fresh battery car turned over ran but needed to keep throttle on it to run it. Turned tps back and it died. Back to clicking. Even on push button click
Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
I've had starters intermittently work before, If the terminal for the large battery voltage wire has been has been over torqued when installing, the intenals of the solenoid won't function correctly. That terminal will rotate and not make soild contact internally. Can I ask how you wired your fan? Do you have the ecu grounding the stock relay in the underhood fuse box, if so which pin on ecu are you using? E12 on my ecu is connected to engine coolant temp sensor even though E12 is supposed to be fanC.
Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
Im going to have to double check fan wiring. Took a deeper look into my charge harness and my positive wires look pretty corroded and barley attached. Going to run all new Power wires to starter and fuse box
Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
Another thing to check is the crimp connector on the signal wire, if its been bent and on the edge of breaking, that will increase resistance, preventing the starter solenoid from seeing proper voltage consistently. My fan is wired through the fan relay in the underhood fuse box. I cut A12(yellow/green) at the old obd1 ecu connector and attached it to body ground, so the fan runs as long as the ignition is in the run position. I'm trying to figure out the proper was to have ecu send ground that same A12 wire, based on ECT temp.
Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
If you're having to keep the throttle open, make sure you have the right ECU, are running the PRB codebase, and your IACV is functioning properly. Check for codes as well.
Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
If I’m running a k24a2, do I want to upload the TSX tune or something else? How do i find the PRB base code?
Also here are the finidings after i took apart my charge harness.

Re: DC2 with k24a2 starting problem
PRB is the first codebase with tune options when you go to File>New Tune. The TSX codebase is drive by wire, don't use it.

Thanks for all the help! She’s purring like a kitten

That's great news!
