Repeated System WBO2 Failures

Post by husseinholland »

Just trying to cover all possible causes for the System WBO2 failures.

'05 RSX ECU 37820-PND-A63. JDM '05 K24A3.

I have installed:
Bosch 15482 (actually repackaged Denso) (Sept. 2018)
Denso 234-4454 (July 2021)
KAX 234-9066 (Dec 2021),
Denso 234-9066 (Jun 2023)
Finally a Honda packaged 36531-RBB-003 (Nov 2023)

I have done maybe 5K miles on the car since the K-conversion. I tried relocating the sensor to make sure it is not too close to the collector. I've always made sure the angle is appropriate to prevent moisture issues.

They all fail the same way, with a Honda-Specific error to do with the output signal missing from the O2 sensor, and/or P1157. I have verified several times that each individual wire from the EMS to the 4 pole WBO2 plug is intact.

I've never had to use "factory" boxed WBO2 with any other car I've owned. I would have expected the Genuine Denso to be "good enough".

Is there anything in the software settings that would impact how the O2 voltage signal is interpreted/utilized that could in any way effect this?

TIA

No. We don't alter O2 control or have settings for that.

OK - thank you for that info. I will look elsewhere.

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
