Afr cmd randomly changes

Post by Jake_ns »

Really strange issue here. We are tuning in s.d. 2012 civic si. Do a pull, 13.0 afr across the board. Literally drive 2 seconds down the road, then do another pull, 3rd and 4th shoot right to 11.3 with the afr cmd saying 11.4 even though the wot tables both are set to 12.9.
We have tried everything , it randomly works fine then just keeps saying rich all of a sudden. Anyone ever have this issue? Just not sure where the afr cmd is getting the 11.3 number from.

If knock control gets too high it enriches for protection. Beyond that it will target the targets. Either way you have full control since you don't run closed loop full time.

Ok I was wondering about that. We have ignition timing extremely low, even less than the stock tune file. It's only around 19 degrees which is too low in my opinion. But no matter what we did it would always knock retard 4 degrees on the top end.

Knock control was .88 above 6500 rpm. 0 knock count. Just not sure why it won't allow more ignition timing as stock runs 26 or so.

The explanation of ignition timing in the online help explains how the ignition table, knock control, and knock retard work together to give you a final value.
