The previous owner installed the end-user ECU board in my 2006 RSX Type S.
Every time I remove the key from the ignition, the ECU resets, and the OBD2 readiness monitors are cleared.
After two failed smog tests, I traced the problem to the KTuner board. Even after applying ‘reverting to factory’ and unlocking it from the ECU, the issue persisted.
The only solution was to physically remove the end-user board from the ECU. Once I did, the monitors stayed set, even after turning the car off.
I’d rather not have to open up and mess with my ECU every time I need to get smogged and go through the drive cycles. Is this behavior normal or could there be an issue with the board, wiring, or the pin headers?
OBD2 monitors reset because End User board
Re: OBD2 monitors reset because End User board
In order to test for emissions you should return to factory, unlock, and remove the unit.
