Following up - have been running the CAN GATEWAY beta option for a couple of days now with no issues. KTuner v2 wakes up when I turn the car on as expected. No noticeable drain issues due to increased current draw.

Correct. They added a CAN bus gateway so CAN activity is blocked from waking the device. That has zero to do with full 2020 tuning support. We do have a beta firmware with an option to disable the CAN wake deep sleep which will draw more current. Feel free to email support. Emailed over the weekend...
