Speed Input Wiring Diagram

Post by Burton5251 »

Is there a wiring diagram available to wire the speed inputs to the board to enable traction control? If not Is it correct to just assume 1 front wheel gets wired to sensor 1 and 1 rear wheel to sensor 2 with can be spliced at the ABS unit?

Splicing at the ABS will work. The board and help label + and - for the individual signals. Try one and verify that it shows a value when you spin the wheel before attempting to drive or connect the second one.

Simple enough. Is there a cable with pigtails that would work for making the four connections at the ECU? Perhaps the 4 pin RD2 cable work (RD2C01)?

There's a 4 pin that came with the R1, but a longer cable like the 8 foot RD2 4 pin can potentially work, too.

I used the RD2 cable to connect to the 4pin speed input on the ECU.

1+:Brown FRS+: GRN/BLK
1-:Green FRS-: BLU
2+: Blue RRS+: GRN/YEL
2-: Black RRS-: BLU/YEL

Tested SPD1 using right front speed sensor (1+ to FRS+ and 1- to FRS-).

I am receiving a VSS signal when I turn the FR wheel however no SPD1 signal. I have tried having the traction control "always on" and "always off" and that does not make a difference. Does anything else need to be activated? This is very simple so I am not sure why I am not receiving a signal. Using KTuner 1.0.7.3

You may need to generate more before it will show up on the input. Or adjust the multiplier for the input, which is in the device settings you can get to from on board logging window.

The wheel just needed to spin faster to register. Works perfect, thanks for the support.

Hi everyone!
Can you please specify pins I shall use to connect ABS sensors (front and rear)?

They're on the ABS sensors, not the ECU.
