Z1 Tuning/Wiring Options

Post by Sonin Fury »

Hello.

Last week I totaled a beautiful 06 Type-S with only 65K miles. Managed to wreck front and back and curb rims so I have almost nothing to part out =(
Trying to make some lemonade with my lemons I decided to attempt a K swap. I am trying to use what I have from this drive train and not buy alot.

Is there a way for me to use my 05-06 Trans, ECU and harness without getting other a 02-04 harness and/or ECU and K-pro?

I have done over 12 hrs of forum reading now (stumbled onto you from K20a.org)

The best method I have found so far involves buying a Hybrid harness AND
-Buy 02-04 ECU
-Have K-Pro'ed for 05-06 Setup
-Re-pin a few wires for tach and speedo.

I mean this is stupid, but in world where I can turn lead into gold I would like to buy and Immobilizer Bypass and Hybrid Harness and roll with my 05-06 ECU and harness and maybe switch a few pins. Just trying to confirm that the above method is the most cost effective alternative which would be

$200 02-04 ECU
+
$845 K-Pro w/ Jumper for 05-06

*Side note, I am looking at a 97 Civic Coupe

You can use your 05-06 parts and ECU.

The VSSOut from the ECU can be ran to the speedo.

If you have everything 05-06, it is much cheaper and easier to do. There is no need for converter.

The only thing you have to do is the repin of the E plug.
