JDM K24A3 AST5 Swap - with ECU# 37820-RBB-E05

I have a K24A3 with the AST5 6 speed manual trans from a 2005 TSX (JDM), going in a Fiat X1/9.

I got the entire engine harness & ECU 37820-RBB-E05

I have read that this this ECU is no good for adding K-Tuner user board. Is this correct?

"• A KTuner prepped ECU. The factory TSX ECU cannot be used, as it does not have the pinouts required for our hardware. Our KTuner ECU is a direct bolt-in replacement for the factory ECU and does not require any additional wiring. You can keep your factory ECU for emissions testing if you choose."

Assuming I need to buy the K-Tuner ECU along with the board, is that any other catch?

I need to eliminate the DBW TB, I'm going to use a 80mm K-Tuned TB, along with a custom manifold with shorter runners than stock (RBB) intake. Can K-Tuner be adjusted for this?

Any other things I need to know/consider before going ahead with a K-Tuner setup?

If you are eliminating drive by wire you need to get an 05 Accord drive by cable ECU.

Many thanks for the response.

I'm assuming 4 cyl, manual trans version of the ECU.

I figured out from RockAuto, cross referencing a 2005 Honda EX Coupe that the manual trans ECU was either a 37820-RAD-A02 or A03. I found an 37820-RAD-A04, which appears to the the superseding number, so I ordered that..

Since I'm using a cable drive ECU, can I repin the DBW Ethrottle connections to use for TPS & an IACV? I've read elsewhere it's not essential, but if it's possible to locate wiring diagrams I can certainly repin & get the appropriate female pin housings.

On that note, what are the Honda /Denso connectors specified as, if one is looking on Mouser, etc., for new housings? I'm familiar with the Timer/Mini-Timer, etc., used on EU cars, but not with Japanese products. I do need new injector sockets, the clips snapped off mine when I removed the harness.

I would have suggested the AT since it will control reverse lockout. The MT ECU will run fine other than that.

I can't help with the wiring or connectors, but you will surely have your work cut out for you if you're trying to patch the existing harness for it.

Thanks again for replying.

Aren't all the engine sensors and controls the same across same year models using the same engine, besides the DBW vs Cable operated?

So the Honda Accord application MT doesn't have a reverse lockout?

OK, so if I give my local K-Tuner vendor the Accord ECU, the User board will be flashed with the Accord base tune, so it has DBC instead of DBW, correct?

Since I'm using a K24A3, I'm wondering how that will work with the cams, etc., or if it even makes a difference which specific K24 is being used, in terms of the User Board and base maps?

You need a DBC ECU to utilize DBC, then you flash and tune it with the 03-05 DBC codebase.

OK. Then I'm all set. I have the '05 Accord ECU now, so I'll get that to my local dealer - Xenocron - and have them install the User Board.

Thank you for your replies.
