ECU Reflash Crash

I attempted my first reflash yesterday on my 2011 TL AWD. I had installed the program and turned off virus protection.

The Tune 2 re flash crashed at about 30%. I attempted to recover the ECU for about 4 hours. The recovery would usually crash somewhere between 8 and 84%. It finally did take and i was able to drive the car with no issues once I recharged the battery fully.

Any ideas what the issue is?

Sounds like your battery was low. It's recommended to use a charger if possible.

I dont think that was it. I had no issues with the battery until like hour 2 of trying to recover the ecu.

Perhaps you'd like to clarify what "crash" means?

An upload of the tune 2 stopped midway (about 30% progress) due to the program loaded on the computer not responding.

While attempting the recover the ecu (about 50 times before it made it to 100%), the program would stop responding anywhere from 8% to 84% progress. I would have to force close the program using windows task manager, then reopening Ktuner and trying again.

Info about your system? Specifically RAM and available RAM at the time?

1.8GHZ dual core 1GB ram, was running about 50% open when viewing in task manager to close.

The app does need quite a bit of RAM, since all of the supported tune files are in the app itself. I've updated the downloads page to reflect a higher RAM requirement. You're likely at the borderline and apparently pushing passed it.

Not a bad idea with how RAM heavy things are these days!
