Launch Options for Automatic TSX?

Post by Jasonvictory86 »

Hi everyone,
I've got an '05 TSX with the CAN adapter to use the 07-08 TSX ECU with the Ktuner. Unfortunately it's an automatic (I inherited the car from my wife).

Are there any launch options for it using the Ktuner other than the "hold the brake hard and give it a little gas" to slip the torque converter?

Engine Mods include:
K24a2 Motor
OBX Headers with modded 2.5" output
2.5" Cat Delete
50 degree VTC wheel
'06 TSX intake cam
Airbox Resonator-Delete

Thanks,
- Jason

Glad to hear this is up and running for you. You have access to the lower rev limit when not moving (2-step). I don't advise loaded launching with an AT though.

If I set the lower rev limiter on the 2-step to maybe 800 rpm, would I be able to:

- Lightly hold brake or hold the e-brake to keep from moving
- Hold throttle to WOT while stationary
- Release the ebrake or brake to start moving

Result: Launch with WOT but only have the torque converter sitting at 800 rpm while loaded?

800rpm is below warmup idle, so you'll hit the fuel cut every time you cold start, or start in general. Then you'll have issues taking off from a light since you'll instantly go beyond 800rpm. Consider this.

I played with the settings and I've come to the conclusion that it's not a good idea (just like you said).

I setup the rev limiter at 1800 with a low setting of 1600. When it bounces off the top it doesn't provide the WOT ability I was imagining.

I think I had a little to much F&F in my head

Ya, the slower rotational speed of the engine will make it very slow.
