Re: 1985 Toyota Pickup Wiring

IT RUNS http://i.imgur.com/VkKcydp.jpg Is there a procedure to calibrate the TPS? I click the calibrate 0% button and nothing appears to happen. TPS read always comes back 80% when I depress the pedal fully. I'm worried the ECU does not know that 80% is really 100% now. Also is there a way for me to...

Re: 1985 Toyota Pickup Wiring

Thank you, I was confused between anti-theft and immobilizer. Today the truck started and ran okay at idle with an RSX base code. Since I have a K24A2, but elected to replace the DBW with an accord TB is there a way to use all the TSX maps but with IAC instead of DBW? It would be awesome to start wi...

1985 Toyota Pickup Wiring

Hello, I'm starting to wire up the K24 I'm installing in a toyota pickup. http://i.imgur.com/AorIaq6.jpg?1 I have a 2005 RSX ECU with Ktuner installed. When I apply power to the ECU +12 on pins 2,3 and ground Pins 4,5 using a bench power supply I can connect the laptop and communicate with the ECU, ...

Re: VSS in 1985 Toyota Pickup

Thanks Admin, knowing the connector and pin is helpful. I should have known the other speed sensor was not needed because it goes to connector D, but just wanted to make sure. Thank you for the offer RABOOST. I found a TSX harness on ebay a while back for $25, so I was all over that deal. Now I have...

Re: VSS in 1985 Toyota Pickup

Oh sorry, the Toyota transmission is a manual. I think my ECU is from an auto though. The TSX wiring diagram I have states that both AT and MT have the countershaft sensor in addition to the mainshaft sensor, but they are in different locations. For AT top of transmission and MT on the transmission ...

Re: VSS in 1985 Toyota Pickup

Okay I think I understand. Got the Ktuner in the mail today so I will play around with the speed input. One question still stands: There are 5 speed sensors sending to the ECU. 2 cams, 1 crank, "trans countershaft/input shaft" and "trans output shaft". My theory is the countersha...

Re: VSS in 1985 Toyota Pickup

Yes I know the ECU wants a speed signal. Just probing this forum to see if I can learn anything more about the nature of the signal. My converter only puts out a toyota signal. It doesn't have software (just a sensor that happens to have the same pulse per rev). Are you referring to the Ktuner softw...

Re: VSS in 1985 Toyota Pickup

I forgot to ask a somewhat related question: Will the ECU be confused at all if I don't supply a countershaft speed sensor signal? I'm a little confused as to why there is a crank position sensor in addition to countershaft.

Thank you

Re: VSS in 1985 Toyota Pickup

Sorry, that's an important detail. I'm using the truck's original transmission Toyota W52. What I found is a converter, but it is a Toyota style signal which is also 4 pulse per revolution. What I don't know is if the signal is identical in every way. It appears the Honda ECU supplies 5V to the sens...
