Re: k24z3 using 05-06 ecu

Sounds good. I know others are curious about doing this so this is very cool. UPDATE: So as we have found out, the newer generation of 2.4l "z" series have a different/modified timing case cover on account that most of the engines use the 60-2 crank trigger wheel bolted to the centerish o...

Re: k24z3 using 05-06 ecu

I have contacted a couple local machine/fab shops and nobody wants to make one to my specs. So for the time being I am looking into a signal conversion box/interface. Will update my findings when I have something.

Re: k24z3 using 05-06 ecu

Alright then. I will look into a custom trigger wheel.

Thank you

Re: k24z3 using 05-06 ecu

ok, that is what I was afraid of. thank you

edit:

Would a software change make it possible for the ecu to read the different signal?

Re: k24z3 using 05-06 ecu

That is what I needed to know then. The increase in resolution is working ok.

Re: k24z3 using 05-06 ecu

They may use the same sensor, I actually looked up the pin out in a wiring diagram quick and it was the same pin positions.

The trigger wheels are different for the sensors.

k24z3 using 05-06 ecu

I am swapping in a k24z3 into an eg, using 05-06 ecu. The harness and engine will be modified to work correctly but my only question is with the 05-06 ecu read the crank trigger from the new engines properly or will I have to swap in a trigger wheel and sensor to match the ecu that is being used?

Re: Welcome to KTuner

Hey guys, well after a 4-5 year k swap hiatus I'm finally getting serious about building another. I've made the initial right steps and got my hands on a mint ecu and bnib engine harness. Just a couple questions really... What do I need to repin on the swap harness e plug and the older style vss wil...
