Reflash Failure: In the event of a failure, where a reflash fails, laptop dies, or other scenarios, and the ECU is left in recovery mode you will be able to recover the ECU.
On your next connection attempt the software will detect an ECU that's currently in recovery mode. It will ask you if you'd like to recover. Simply say yes and let the software go through the entire reflash process, which you can watch the progress of in the status bar at the bottom left of the window.
